Lanercost Priory

I had to accompany my husband on a hospital visit to Gateshead. On our way back we had a bit of time and stopped off at Lanercost Priory . It is such a peaceful place, certainly late afternoon when the visitors have gone :)
I do love the countryside along the Hadrian's Wall, in the north of England as much as in the south of Scotland.
