Conkers in Waiting

Looks like it might be a bumper year for conkers. This tree is just inside the allotment fence and isn’t actually all that large but it is absolutely laden in blooms. Good for the bugs!
I was up strimming the grass again as it insists on growing like there’s no tomorrow. Maybe it knows something? Anyway, the battery ran out so I’ll need another trip to finish it. As usual.
Picked S up at the Pleasance again this evening but was undecided on a pub of choice so settled on an old favourite, The Orchard, which unfortunately was full. Ended up just getting something to eat in The Tiq and we scedaddled before the Wed quiz started. A bit disappointing, I’ll be more decisive next time!
