Ride of Silence

This ride takes place once a year, all over the world, at 7pm on the 3rd wedn of May. The participants ride in memory of loved ones who were killed in biking accidents and also to raise awareness about sharing the road safely.

I found out about this from a new golfing friend with whom I had lunch today and whose daughter was killed 9 years ago while on a fundraising charity ride across country, while she was on the side of the road fixing a broken tire. She was swiped by a distracted driver…. Her dad is the guy on the far right with the striped shirt.
