feeling happier today as the Blue Brooch team rang to assure me that 
1) their email did not mean a refusal and that it would be processed asap once the proper information from the GP was emailed to them. 
2) that they have their IT people changing the wording on the online form, because my observation that it does say not to contact your GP is true, and should be rectified.

new gate is now in place at the bottom of our drive (the last was was cleaved in two by a works lorry), and i managed to get a bit of sun today too.
