Phuket, Thailand

Today we went to the Kingdom of Siam. Now we're really in Asia. Little english speaking here. Entirely different standards and customs, and very good (cheap) food.

We stayed at the Karona Resport and Spa, one half block from the beach in the Karon/Kata beach area of Phuket Island. Nice resort, good location close by to shops and many restaurants.

Just up the road from us, in front of the Dino Minigolf, you could see this baby elephant every day. Give him 20 Baht (< $1) and he'll hand it to his trainer. She'll give you a bag of little plantains or bamboo shoots and you can feed him. We visited him almost every day we were there. He was very well behaved and trained for a two-year-old.

The Minigolf was excellent. The holes could have been more challenging, but the course was superbly themed, contructed, and lanscaped.
