Bishop’s Castle

This is back blip from last Sunday. We were so busy in Colorado that I fell behind.

I got to talk with Mr. Bishop himself. He is way up in his 80’s now. One of his sons is working on the structure as he can. He and his wife had 4 children. I could see fresh pain in his eyes as he told hold their 4 year old son died at the castle during his wife’s last pregnancy. He said “ She never got over it.” It was evident neither did he. He lost his wife of 50 something years a while back and misses her terribly. He is a believer in a Jesus and relayed an assurance of joining her. I loved hearing him talk. I perceived that this project was one of passion, love, and obsession..
It is amazing that one man started and nearly completed this in the middle of nowhere! I could not climb all the stairs as I knew I’d have to come down and that would be a scary prospect!
