Arctic Terns
On the Loch of Harray by Brodgar Bridge in Stenness. I liked this shot partly because it is like a stop go shot. There were 14 on a little islet and I don't recollect there being so many there before. I have seen a couple of posts saying fewer are at usual nest sites but it may partly be that birds choose different locations sometimes. Masses of tourists out there today, no doubt off the two cruise ships. I saw at least 3 groups of cyclists numbering about18 in each group so the local drivers won't be happy. Extra is of an offering of fish.
