The Spittelau Incinerator

We had a round of meetings today and a lot of walking! One of the interesting things that we walked past was this unexpected landmark of Vienna. "The Spittelau waste incineration plant is a piece of art that processes around 250,000 tonnes of household waste every year to produce green heating and electricity". It was designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Do we do this in the UK? If not, why not I wonder?

In the evening we went to listen to the Lerchenfeld String Quartet playing Mozart, Hayden and Beethoven in the Kirche St. Anna. A lovely evening.
