Demonstrably London

I mentioned the noisy demo I saw in Whitehall yesterday, which can be seen in the extra photo. There was a quieter demonstration going on in King Charles Street which had entered its 75th day. This is the subject of the main photo. A British-Iranian journalist is on hunger strike trying to persuade the British government to declare the Iranian Revolutionary Guard a terrorist organisation. 75 days is a heck of a long timev to go without food and, so far as I know, the government is not moving on this despite sympathetic noises being made in the past. King Charles Street links Whitehall to the road between Birdcage Walk and the Mall skirting St James's Park The next street along from it is Downing Street. It used to be possible for the public to walk down Downing Street - I did in my younger days - but it is now sealed off behind heavy iron gates guarded 24/7 by armed police.
