NZ Book awards

Hail beating on the window and a black sky and driving wind. Heat pump full on. This sort of weather is when we notice the cracks in the walls and ceilings as it makes it hard to heat the house.

Great day for a good book though. Was at work today and reading the children one of the books in the NZ Book awards. These on display are the ones that suit our age group. There are fiction and non-fiction, picture books and "chapter" books.

It is always interesting to see which books win, and to see the interest with which the children follow the results.

I see the awards have been renamed to honour a NZ author who had a huge impact on books for children, Margaret Mahy.
