Fields of Narcisses …
… at Les Avants above Montreux. The locals call this rare phenomenon “Neige de Mai” or May Snow. It draws large numbers of visitors to the shores of Lake Geneva every year. Today was the prime time to see them but the path through the woods was the worst path any of us has ever walked on. Liquid chocolate came to mind! Thank goodness for walking poles! We met people on the path who did not have them and many had fallen over. The 2 hour walk starts and finishes in Les Avants, a Belle Époque-style village that was one of the first ski resorts created in Switzerland, these days it does not get enough snow at 1,150m. Great walk and great company. Extra of “Babes in the Woods!”
