Wet cuckoo

The other week I was bemoaning the lack of wild flowers around. Apart from dandelions which I believe will inherit the earth. The cuckoo flowers are now in flower, so called because their flowers coincide with the arrival of cuckoos. But I’ve never heard a cuckoo around here, I must listen harder.
