Kerry comes over late afternoon (she has been watching Charlie sky dive in Fife, which sounds terrifying). Nick comes up a bit after six. Emily arrives fashionably late.

I’ve a three course meal planned. Tomato soup from the freezer. Roasted veg with baked tofu and braised red cabbage. Rhubarb crumble and ice cream. There’s a dash of PX left to go with the dessert and more wine than you can shake a stick at.

It ends up being a late night.
