the little world of me

Farewell

Emotional day today. Said farewell to my lovely Gran Olly.

Crematorium followed by memorial service in st Mary's church, Andover.
Beautiful readings by my Aunt and my Mum, myself and my cousin.

Here is my tearful farewell to a wonderful lady -

Gran,
Thank you for always being there. A shoulder to cry on, a listening ear or ready with the TCP to clean a graze!
I truly feel blessed to have had such a wonderful person in my life for so long to help mould me into the mother, wife, daughter that I am today.

You have always been there just in case, and now it's hard to think you won't be anymore. I will forever carry the unconditional love you gave me in my heart and do my very best to be as caring and kind as you.

My fondest memory is our attempt at baking a Victoria sponge. Neither of us were particularly great at baking but, this one time we were so pleased when we took the cake out of the oven as it had actually risen in the middle! We left it in the tin a while to cool. Once we turned the cake out, we weren't so pleased as we discovered the cake had risen from the bottom too and was a giant cookie. It made us giggle so much.

I hope you know how much we all love you and miss you. Look after Ellie now. Sleep peacefully xxx
