Ute sign

This tree is growing in Rocky Mountain National Park. The bend in it is thought not to be natural, but to have been culturally modified. It is thought that hundreds of years ago, the tree was cut and bound by Ute Indians, then gradually trained into this sharp angle to form a marker or message.
