One of the locals
We all felt a tiny bit sick this morning as the buckets of drinks were sooo cheap last night!
Katie was the worst as she was throwing up but I think it was from something she had eaten. We moved hostel just down the road from Hanoi backpackers. Took a while for the man to show us to a room that had 3 beds with the air con working but he got there eventually. We had a fridge, TV and air con which was amazing!
Annie and I went to go and find something to munch. We found a recommended place in the lonely planet and went to go and find it but we were in completely the wrong place.
(The picture) When we were trying to find something to eat this local lady came up and put the baskets onto our shoulders and their hats. We found it hilarious. I said to Annie we might as well buy some fruit. They then told us that it cost 700,000D (£12) for the fruit and picture. We got slightly angry with them and said we are not paying that amount. People came out of the shops and on the street to see what was going on. We paid 100,000 altogether and ran away. Got ripped off as usual!
We nearly got caught in the monsoon that night. We just got into a restaurant before it came. Still amazed how much rain there can be. We wondered around the city for a rather long time afterwards before heading back and having an early bed.
