Spanish Barn
We took a drive out to Torquay this morning, parking up near Tor Abbey where we had a coffee. The picture is of the Spanish Barn at Tor Abbey.
The Barn was built around 1300, the thatch roof being replaced by slate in 1370. The reason for the name derives from the use it was put to in 1588 when Francis Drake captured a ship of the Spanish Armada and 397 Spanish prisoners were held there for 23 days.
This is the second blip in a row featuring Ann, though I think today's appearance was accidental!
From Torquay we drove down to Meadfoot and parked up by the sea to have our picnic lunch. I've added a photo of one of the rocky islets in the extras.
Later we went round to Colin's for a very nice tea he'd prepared for us.
