Predator

I think this is a sparrowhawk (happy to be corrected by any experts around here). It swooped down onto the lawn late this afternoon right in front of our eyes and took (I think) a starling. It carried its victim to the back of the garden to prepare and eat. Blackbirds were mobbing it the whole time it sat there, but it didn't seem bothered by them. Savage but beautiful.
