Abandonment

I spent the day walking round a huge area of the south Lanarkshire hills looking at remnants of lead mining. It was a glorious day and the company, a colleague from work was excellent. We covered almost seven miles and spotted hundreds of former pits and working some of which were truly huge. This image is of a tramway where lead ore would be loaded - down chutes and out the holes and taken to be washed.
