THE CAROUSEL
It's W-I-D-E Wednesday and today's submission certainly is wide enough to qualify. It doesn't follow the Challenge for the day (River Scenes) although there IS a trout stream just below the hill in the background.

This is a view of The Carousel (a portion of the race track named for it's resemblance to a.....carousel) taken from the newly constructed road that completely encircles it all the way around some 300° of arc....NOT the one seen in the foreground beyond the fencing which is access for corner workers. It's part of Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI and it is "paved" with ground up track asphalt (bitumen) from the repaving project conducted last fall after the race season ended.

It took a 14mm lens to capture the entire arc which was all but impossible to shoot until the roadway was constructed. Large hill to the south covered with Maple/ Beech/Oak forest with lots of trees in the way. With the new road, access is easy and will certainly be a fan favorite place to watch the races in the future...especially on those very hot humid days when relaxing in the shade of the trees will be a boon.
