Impressive.....

'This elegant Victorian Conservatory stands within a stylish terrace and allows guests to enjoy views across the award winning gardens. The Grade II listed cast iron Conservatory was originally built in the Horniman family house in Coombe Cliff, Croydon in 1894. By 1982 it had fallen into disrepair and, with the help of English Heritage, it was dismantled and beautifully restored and reopened in 1988. It is now used for performances and parties and is licensed for civil ceremonies.'

I had a working visit with 'old' colleagues at the Horniman Museum today and we sat looking at this amazing piece of architecture while we ate our lunch. The museum and neighbouring park were very much part of my childhood, so today was a bit of a memory lane trip for me. Some lottery funding has enabled big refurbishment and landscaping projects to be undertaken and it's looking good.

Very different weather today! The museum was heaving with parents and carers, and children on half term holiday all needing an indoor venue!
