Bridgend

I met up with a former colleague this morning from my Scottish Government days. She has moved nearby and we had coffee at the Bridgend Farmhouse cafe on Old Dalkeith Road. It has become quite a bustling community centre.

Lots of chat and memories and we then had a walk around the sites. The photo is of a mirror display in the child play area.

Back home I discovered that a major report on the children’s hearings system (welfare and justice in Scotland for children and young people) had been published. It has been a few years in preparation and is proposing some major changes to what to date has been a volunteer based system. I will need to read and digest.

No time to do so today as lots of church business on the go. At least it felt summery and warm once the clouds parted at midday.
