Yes, it is perfectly legal to take pictures of people in public spaces and they can not argue with that. What you do with the picture is another story.

I often get in trouble but most of the time manage to sweeten the deal just by popping a smile to an unhappy face who just caught me "sneaking" a shot. In some few cases and because I felt my personal zone threatened I had to delete the file.

No such thing today, pretty face delighted to be the object of my attention :-D
