Another friend’s farewell…

As I’ve been indicating, it’s been a very big week.

After farewelling our friend Libby on Saturday, Pinot came to stay on Sunday night as her mum had to go away urgently - her brother died unexpectedly.

Pinot hasn’t been well, but had a wonderful walk and swim with her sister Poppy and Mum on Saturday….

However, she deteriorated, and we were up with her all night on Tuesday/Wednesday morning. With the vets assistance, we managed to keep Pinot comfortable until her Mum got back to Wānaka on Wednesday afternoon. They spent a couple of hours together in the sun - and before the vet came to euthanase her, Pinot died quietly while Jill and I were with them.

You have seen quite a few photos of Pinot, (extra) as she is a favourite dog of ours and gets on so well with Billy and Frida. We are very sad about her death …it’s been exhausting, but even worse for her poor mum with 2 significant deaths this week.
