Behind the curtain.

I spent most of the day behind this curtain.

I spent much of the night awake thinking, and decided that my mission today was to advocate for mam coming home.

Shortly after 10am I was asked to come to the ward; mam’s condition had deteriorated further and they had withdrawn all unnecessary treatment. I was told that all they could do now was keep her comfortable. I did express our wish to take her home, but was advised that she was too fragile. A compromise was reached - they would not limit access / visiting hours or numbers and they would look for a side room. The side room didn’t materialise, so we spent all day behind this curtain in a bay.
