Circus Horse 1964

Not the kind of weather for jigsaw blips, but then I do like to be different! Lots of sunshine today and at times it was actually hot. So at that point I retreat to my ‘cold in winter/cool in summer’ room and sew whilst pretending I’m at the Hay Festival.

And then I put in the last few pieces of this puzzle. It has taken a lot of doing, but I have learnt a lot about how Chagall worked - the surreal nature of his work, but most of all the colour and vibrancy of colour. So much blue and yellow. Here the audience seem to be enveloped in the colour, the energy of the happening.

And now sitting in the warm evening sunshine listening to the birds singing - that’s more me than being out in the heat of the day.
