Chicken of the woods

We explored some of the lanes and areas near our accomodation - a  beautiful area.

This is one of the pretty rivers that we walked along.  It had everything - beautiful trees and mountains plus a waterfall.  This chicken in the woods fungus on an oak tree was lovely to see.  

We saw two cuckoos but they flew away before I could get a decent photo. We then saw a cuckoo on a wire being harassed by a small bird - they're obviously aware of the danger to their nests.
