Inspired by a flourishing ash tree.
I have noticed that some mature ash trees in Rayrigg woods have been felled, presumably because they have been affected, like many others of their kind, by the fungal disease causing ‘die-back’.
I was delighted, therefore, to see this young ash tree almost weighed down with ‘keys’. If conditions are favourable, perhaps there might be a chance of some disease - resistant ash trees springing up to replace those we have lost.
