Day 6 Plasencia to Béjar, 46 miles

When I sit down in the evening with a beer or in tonight’s case a glass of Spanish wine I am amazed at all the things we have seen and experienced in a day.

Today w We took a detour off the N630 and did some touristy stuff. First , to the abandoned Roman town of Cáparra then to the beautiful hill town of Hervás with it's Jewish streets. Then on up a huge climb in pouring rain  to the mountain town of Béjar, crossing from Extremadura into Castille Y León. We started this morning at 300m we're now at 960m. Béjar is a small town not much visited by tourists and with no attractive bars, so after a stroll around the city streets and town walls we headed back to the apartment to our bottle of plonk.

We have a bit of a disaster. Mr PB was fixing his bike, and we didn’t realise my bike was leant on top of his back wheel. My bike toppled over breaking the front brake. Mr PB is unable to fix it -  so I am front brake less!
