Pilrig Wheels

The Pilrig Wheels have just been installed at the end of Iona Street. These are tram cable wheels, dated to 1898, uncovered at the Pilrig Street - Leith Walk junction during the recent trams works. They were used in the underground cable-winding mechanism for Edinburgh's original cable operated tram network. Love that they've been put on display close to where they had been in operation.
