Another poppy
Back blipping for yesterday
This one is from my own garden. They don't last long but they are exquisitely beautiful. This year I have half a dozen poppy flowers which is the most I have ever had. I have to say I do like the seed heads too, very sculptural, so there is more to look forward to.
Yesterday was a busy housework day. It seemed such a shame not to be out in the nice weather but we have a forecast of sunshine for the next two weeks so putting off the housework to another day wasn't really workable. And we had guests for the evening.
In the event we never did sit in my lovely clean, tidy sitting room. Instead we sat outside and enjoyed the late sunshine and the bird song. It must be all that peanut butter coconut halves and suet blocks; the birds were twittering for all they were worth. It was a deep joy, especially since it was a bring and eat evening. Our contribution was a mango cheesecake... from Cook!
We decamped inside for pudding as it was starting to get a little cool and continued our discussions over cheese and biscuits. We spent some time debating the rights and wrongs of AI - will it be a boon or a curse? I think the consensus was that it could be a boon but only if governments get their fingers out and regulate it properly. Taking the record of our recent governments into consideration I'm not holding my breath.
By 10 o'clock we were done with eating and debating and everyone helped to clear up and load the dishwasher. A great evening had by all.
