Maud Community Garden
As I arrived in Maud on my way home today the sun suddenly broke through and the temperature rose by five degrees. I decided to take a wee break and have a wander through the beautifully kept community garden in the heart of the village. The garden is planted on land acquired by the Maud Village Trust in 2002. The trust has done an amazing job over the last 10 years or so in developing the gaping hole left in Maud when the mart closed. For more information visit the trust's webpage
We are fortunate in this part of Aberdeenshire to have so many people with vision and drive, and the skills to deliver on these big community projects, while ably supported over the years by our local rural partnership, the Buchan Development Partnership. Local people leading indeed.
