The View From Here...
...sure is different than it was back in the Aveyron! At least I can see trees, the sky and even the moon from my window...but looking down? A whole new world! Not a cow in sight!
We obviously are now in Toulouse.. a far cry from the country living we were getting used to. But it was time for a change of pace and I am really looking forward to getting out and about and enjoying the best of what city life has to offer..
The drive here went really smoothly..and I was relieved to find that the Toulouse-Blagnac airport is sign-posted well before you leave the toll road we were using! I had never driven into the airport from that direction on that freeway, so was a bit concerned..but the French seem very good at signposting, so all went well - easy peasy.
One problem we had though? After having an entire house to ourselves and having accumulated more "stuff", we took one look at our little studio apartment - which in the past had served us well - and said..Nope! No room for us, let alone our baggage! We were fortunate that there was an identical studio apartment available on the same floor, so we booked it too and now we each have our own! Much better! Privacy and space!
Now.. to get used to the crowds, and the traffic - cars, trucks, buses, motorcycles, and bicycles! All under my window... It is good though to see so many bicycles...The VélO!Toulouse biking project sure is popular! That bike station below was totally empty later in the evening..and those wide bike lanes are always in use...one small step to less pollution...
Beautiful weather here.so far...Hope it lasts!
