Castle in the Oasis Haha

I was persuaded to change the blip photo I was going to post of Aduro the cat drinking out of the tap, which I thought was cute, to this more arty one. From this angle the flowers growing just behind the wall look like palm trees!

We are having a very restful time here in Mourão at Mike and Daveen’s. I even had time for a luxurious afternoon nap.

Earlier in the day we attended Mass at the local Catholic Church, followed by “fellowship” of a different kind at a local watering hole down in the town - the “Adega”. We joined in with the group of local men who were there enjoying little glasses of wine served with little snacks. Later we were treated to a wonderful spontaneous rendition of some folk songs sung by them about their town and country, of which they seem to be very proud.

Now we are about to leave to join a group of ex-pat friends of M & D for dinner at a restaurant called Sem Fim.
