Optical Phenomena
This afternoon I observed one of the most extensive displays of solar optical phenomena that I have seen in a very long time.
They were observed from Kinghorn and Kirkcaldy (Fife) this late afternoon and evening.
I should perhaps add that in the top two images, I have masked out the brightest, burnt-out, area of the sun to better appreciate the rest of the display. That explains the black shape over the sun.

Parhelia (aka sun dogs or mock suns)

Upper tangential arc (or is it the Parry arc?)
Lower tangential arc

In addition, this shows an additional feature further out from the sun and somewhat lower (just above the Craigkelly TV transmitter mast.
I believe this to be part of the 46º halo - a sub-parhelion?.
