Things Change---God Doesn't!
In a world where change occurs constantly, we gathered at FBC to lift up our hearts and voices in praise and worship to the God Who does not change. It is Memorial Day in America, a day on which we remember and honor those who sacrificed their lives so that we could live and worship in freedom. I am sorry for those who did not get there in time to hear Deani play a special prelude before the service. It was amazing! We began our service this morning with a video to remind us how important it is that we never forget the price that was paid for us to be able to live in this country. I was already up in the choir, so there are no pictures from that part of the service. After the welcome by Matt, our guest director, Bro. Charles, led the choir, orchestra and all our dedicated accompanists in a worshipful rendition of "We Will Remember". After more congregational praise and worship, Pastor Wes took us to the book of Joshua, to speak to us about trusting God in times of change using the experiences of the Israelites as they prepared to enter the land He had promised to them since the time of Abraham.
For all the details on that process, I suggest you watch the Live-stream. I was there and heard it in person and I can tell you that it is worth watching. I would tell you more details, but I will just say that I had some technical difficulties that should not happen again and next week's post should be more normal than this one At the end of our service, we prayed over our graduates as we send them out to face new challenges and changes........
