Cat Ba Island
Woke up at 6 this morning as the air con had been switched off, also the driver of the boat was playing some strange music. We scrapped the plan of having a swim before getting breakfast! Breakfast was 3 pieces of bread and watermelon. The boat sailed to harbour and we got off to get a bus to the hotel. We had a strange Vietnamese man. We got on a bus that stopped half way and then told us we were off trekking which we had no idea about! We were wearing flip flops so we sat and waited for an hour and a half with 2 other girls. Finally got to the town of Cat Ba and we were expecting to be checked into a horrible hostel but it was really nice. Got a fridge, TV, shower with glass, pictures on the wall...etc! Very different to our budgeting so far, ha. After lunch Katie stayed at the hotel and watched the French open whilst Annie and I went to the beach. Walked quite a long way to get to the first one but it was definitely worth it. We had 2 hours of peace until all the Vietnamese parents with their children came. There was probably more than 70. They all stayed on one the shady part of the beach as they don't want to tan which was hilarious because there wasn't much shade. Annie and I walked to the second beach which we missed as it was super busy. Views were awesome. Went for a ice coffee, so good. This Vietnamese guy started chatting to us and gave us the name of his hotel. We went to look at a room. It was so nice and looked over Cat Ba bay. Going to stay there tomorrow.
Had our supper and then came back and watched a film with a sneaker (snicker) we had bought .
