Sadness
On our morning walk, Fletcher and I found this young Corn Snake dead on the street. Its lower body had been crushed by the wheels of some vehicle and it hadn't been dead for very long. I hid it in some bushes and picked it up on our way home. Corn snakes are constrictors, no threat to humans and are often kept as pets because they are typically very docile. I took a few photos for this tribute and then gently laid it in our compost orb. I expect that the insects will feast and what will remain will be a fully reticulated skeleton of this beautiful serpent.
