Popo
What did you call it: chamber pot, po, guzunder, jerry, potty and here's a few more possibles: commode, crapper, honeypit, jordan*, necessary stool, pisspot, stool of easment, thunder mug! We called it a popo, just saying.
* This is interesting: Usually derived from a clipped form of jordan bottle , supposedly a bottle of curative water brought back from the River Jordan by Crusaders and pilgrims to the Holy Land,.Its use for chamber pots may derive from the alchemical device having been used to hold urine.
Anyway, there it was, a little white enamel one with a blue rim, placed rather artfully in a small window also with a blue rim!
The whole building is ancient and charming and renovations were started on it but I fear the money has run out.
Another gorgeous day - hang on, that's a whole week! Today I have been mostly hedge trimming - a large hawthorn hedge has run amok and I
have been wrestling with it.This involved a ladder and loppers and was exhausting in the sunshine. Also the hawthorn has big thorns. Rests were needed and
a bit of well work indulged in - I have been revamping the Gazetteer on my website having discovered that my alphabetical order is shocking.
Two swims taken, an easterly wind causing a bit of havoc.
