Day 8 Salamanca to Zamora 41 miles

We spent the morning in Salamanca where the wonderfully helpful owner of Bicicletas Palacios repair shop agreed to fit a caliper brake to my bike due to permanent damage to the current brake after some carelessness. The photo isn’t a great one, but I was genuinely so happy to have my bike back in full working order.
Salamanca is a pretty good place to spend a morning. We went up the university bell tower for more spectacular views of this stunning city. It’s a city I would like to come back to.

With the fully functioning bikes we headed off to Zamora,  dead straight along the empty N630 in hot sunshine. We stopped in a village and ate our tortilla pie then headed on mostly down hill.  Now in the sleepy town of Zamora, there are tourists but as it’s a bit wet and a Monday not many about.
