From the balcony

It was another beautiful day! I was sorry not to get out for a walk, but did have some useful time outside in the morning, firstly with J potting her first three sunflower plants into a large tub - nine more plants to go in three more tubs - and then potting some of the outdoor (balcony) tomatoes into their large pots. Later, I took J outside again for dessert - possibly our favourite ice cream, Ben and Jerry's peanut butter cup - after which she enjoyed some good cuddles with both cats. This was a late photo, after seven, looking across the valley from the balcony. At that time of day the sun unfortunately emphasises the cables running across our orchard, but the hawthorn blossom is gorgeous at present, the fields are lush and green, and the evening sun brings out the colour of the little weatherboarded cottage on the hillside. I took a glass of inexpensive but nice Sauvignon Blanc up there and enjoyed the peace, an indulgent treat for a beautiful summer evening.
