End of Year BBQ

What a day! We woke up to rain on the day of our last End of Year BBQ. Our mantra all day was "Everything will be fine! The rain will stop!" It was yet another sad misfortune for our University Stars. Still pouring at 2:15...

The school board voted a year ago to close our wonderful elementary school, due to low enrollment in the district. This close knit community will be split up into 4 different schools. It's been a very sad year.

But when the bell rang at 2:30, the rain did stop! The ground soaked up the water - no mud on the field! 8 huge bouncy things, popcorn, cotton candy & snow cones! The DJ playing the tunes! And the warm sun! The kids had a blast!

At 4:00, the teachers were "flipping burgers for the stars"! They made over 500 burgers & hot dogs. 20 watermelons. Our last 4 days will be tough next week, this will be a day the kids can look back on with a smile!
