In memoriam

Not quite as wet as yesterday so I went for a nice run over the Chase this morning.

Cannock Chase is home to quite a few war memorials including Commonwealth and German war cemeteries. Not far from there is the Katyn memorial to the 14,000 members of the Polish armed forces and professional classes executed in 1940 in Katyn Forest, near Smolensk, by the Soviet secret police on the orders of Stalin.
