Common Blue

We had a great insect safari at Silverdale Country Park just outside our town. It was a former colliery but has been reclaimed for wildlife.

The main image is a female Common Blue butterfly. Not the background I would have chosen but as yet I've not managed to train a butterfly....

The extras include a Cardinal beetle and a female Thick-legged Flower beetle.
