Kazakhstan

My husband was given these beautiful coasters from a friend in Kazakhstan in the new year. They are far too pretty to use so they are on display in a glass fronted unit. When I took them out to photograph them I discovered they are flawed, can you see ?
Also can some of you expert photographers tell me how to take a good picture of something metallic without the flash ruining it ?
