Farewell to Stromness

We had to leave the house at 05:30 in order to catch the early ferry - M stood outside her house to wave us off in the traditional manner! She's a tiny figure wearing black just to the right of the cream coloured house. I suppose this is the reverse view from the first extra on this blip.

We were anticipating a long and tedious wait for the train in Thurso, but due to the v helpful taxi driver we just made it to one that left at 08:30! Were feeling quite smug until we changed trains at Inverness, when the train crew were highly disgruntled at having been given a 'set' of only three carriages when there should have been five, and a lot of people wanting to travel on it. We squashed on, found a seat for Danny with D and I in the vestibule. We stayed like that all the way to Edinburgh......

After managing to cook some sort of carbonara, we all fell into our beds.
