BARNARD CASTLE: EYES ON THE PIES

We went to Barnard Castle today but the weather was so overcast that all my other photos were too dark, so you get this out-of-date reference! Will the town ever be allowed to forget?

Actually we went there to test the pies which we'd spotted in a shop window as we drove through yesterday on the way to Appleby, and they were worth the journey. We visited the castle too, for the first but not the last time, and there's plenty more to investigate in the future.
