Purple Haze

Last year the gardeners at Baddesley Clinton tried out wildflower turf on the long bed. Although many of us reminisce about their glorious dahlias of many years ago, we had to agree it was splendid.

A couple of months ago, I asked them what they were doing this year. Unsurprisingly, they went for the same special turf.

I thought it was probably even more spectacular.

If you look closely at the photo, you’ll see a happy and noisy blackbird on the netting over the summerhouse roof.

If you look even more closely, you’ll spot the little boy who was fascinated by the bird.
