Long lost Brendan

I first met Brendan about 25 years ago, a friend of thepainterswife who I met when travelling in Australia. Both are New Zealanders and we all shared a house in Ealing at one time and partied in London back in the ‘80s.

Brendan met and married the lovely Elizabeth but 14 years ago had a terrible ski accident resulting in a devastating brain injury and went completely off radar. None of our dispersing circle of friends were in regular contact and he wasn’t responding to those that had been.

But I heard he was in London today and thanks to Jo who is in contact, despite the train strikes we all made a concerted effort to meet up. It was great to see him, albeit much more briefly than planned. It’s been a tough and ongoing road to recovery for him but he’s making great progress and I hope that we can meet up again before another 15 years passes by.
