Merrick Takes One For the Team

The count was full (3 balls and 2 strikes), so Merrick was dug in at the plate...awaiting the pitch. It was low and inside, and as you can see...it struck him in the left leg. 

He shook it off, hobbled to first base and eventually scored,

This was our last game of the season, and we beat the 1st place team 8-4, putting our record at 3.5 wins, and 6.5 losses.

Grandma Lisa can be seen just to the left of Merrick's chest.

It was Merrick's last day of school (6th grade), so we celebrated by going out for lunch to one of those places where the chef cooks the meal right in front of you...with just a touch of flair.
